IMS Ghaziabad is organizing an event on November 24, 2020 (Tuesday) at 3:30 PM under the lecture-demonstration series of SPIC MACAY.
SPIC MACAY is a non-political nationwide voluntary movement that organizes programs of classical music and dance, folk arts, crafts, yoga, classic cinema screenings, heritage walks, etc. inside the school and college campuses throughout the world to make students more aware about Indian and world heritage. This initiative makes education more holistic and meaningful as it highlights all that is abstract, subtle, inspiring, and mystical in the world teaching one to look within oneself.
IMS Ghaziabad believes that imbibing knowledge about heritage and culture in students will make them more responsible and aware of our society. To ensure this, IMS Ghaziabad is organizing an event on November 24, 2020 (Tuesday) at 3:30 PM under the lecture-demonstration series of SPIC MACAY.
Dr. Shovana Narayan, Padmashri & Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee a renowned exponent of Kathak. Dr. Shovana Narayan, a name synonymous with Kathak, is the celebrated outstanding doyen of this art form. Breathing the spirit and ethos of Indian spirituality, classicism, and artistic excellence, for her outstanding, consistent, and trend-setting pioneering works in Kathak, she has been awarded the prestigious Padmashri Award by the President of India in 1992 and the Sangeet Natak Akademi award for 1999-2000 in 2001.
She will be accompanied by Ustad Shakeel Ahmed Khan (Tabla), Madho Prasad Ji (Music composer – Vocalist), Mahaveer Gangani Ji (Pakhawaj), Ustad Azhar Shakeel (Violin) for a mesmerizing show.
