IMS Ghaziabad Organized User Awareness Programme on “EBSCO Business Source Elite”

Carrying forward the motto of ‘Involve, Innovate and Ignite the Reading Habit’, the Library team of IMS Ghaziabad organized a highly relevant Online User Awareness Programme on “EBSCO Business Source Elite” for students and faculty on January 11, 2022. The critical session was envisioned in line with the endeavors of Director, Dr. Urvashi Makkar to boost academic excellence and research culture in the institute. The Expert Resource Speaker of the session was Mr. Lakhpat Singh Naruka, Training Manager, EBSCO Information Services, who explained the diverse features of EBSCO databases and other services in a simplified and clutter-free format. Hands-on training was given by him on easy steps to discover new research ideas, referencing, tracking new trends and retrieving articles. Participants learnt how to receive alerts on the new contents and journals of their interest as well as quick ways to navigate and understand an article.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Urvashi Makkar emphasized on the phenomenal importance of reading and being continuously updated on the current trends. She inspired the students to make the best use of the rich library resources of the institute for bringing about a sea change in their content quality, knowledge base and subject orientation. Coordinated by Dr. Amit Bhati, the session was instrumental in familiarizing the participants with time saving features for extracting, saving and accessing relevant information using the EBSCO database.
