Director, IMS Ghaziabad Graced National Seminar at JIMS Kalkaji as Distinguished Speaker

We are privileged to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad (Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad) was invited as Distinguished Speaker in the National Seminar on “Empowering Women in India: Role of Education” organized by JIMS Kalkaji, New Delhi on March 08, 2022. Citing references from ancient Indian mythology, Dr. Urvashi highlighted that in our country, Women’s Day is not celebrated on any singular day; on the contrary, Indian culture has been giving equal rights and respect to both women and men since times immemorial. She emphasized that International Women’s Day is about collectively creating a change all across the globe rather than about individual perspective. She added that worldwide, this day should be observed as a day for celebration, reflection, advocacy and taking concrete actions for gender parity.

Conceptualized on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022, the event witnessed deliberations by distinguished luminaries Dr. Kavita Sharma, Fmr. Principal, Hindu College, University of Delhi; Dr. Simrit Kaur, Principal, Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi; Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS Kalkaji; Director, Dr. Ashok Sharma; Advisor, Dr. Satish Seth, besides many other stalwarts from industry and academia on the critical role of education as a catalyst for women empowerment.
