The students of IMS Ghaziabad (Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad) celebrated Teacher’s Day 2021 by presenting a cultural program “Gurusrijan”
The students of IMS Ghaziabad (Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad) celebrated Teacher’s Day 2021 by presenting a cultural program “Gurusrijan” on August 3, 2021. In line with the initial quote, “Teachers are the backbone of the any country, the pillar upon which all aspirations are converted into realities”, the student anchors beautifully set the context with the rationale behind the day being celebrated as teachers’ day, with a tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
On the occasion, a vibrant and colorful cultural program was organized by the students. The skit titled “Teachers – The Creators of Life” highlighting the sacrifices of teachers, touched the hearts of the audience. The energetic students put their best foot forward with their dance and melodious songs, to make the faculty members feel special. Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad (Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad), in her motivational address congratulated the students for their efforts and enthusiasm in organizing the event and also reemphasized the expectations of the institute from them. In the end, the student performers of the Management Game “Make in India to Atmanirbhar Bharat” held during the Induction Program (PGDM, Batch 2021-23) and Bridge Courses Assessment, were awarded with certificates.

Following the theme of the conclave, “Transforming Human Capital through Agile Leadership: Risk, Resilience, Reimagination (3R’s) “, this meeting of great minds will provide solutions to recent challenges in Human Resource.
The ongoing pandemic is essentially a humanitarian crisis and as the custodian of people engagement and related practices, HR has to play a critical role in this change management process. In a scenario characterized by unprecedented absorption of digital solutions where work from home has become a new normal; employee engagement is gaining prime importance; learning and development is receiving a new impetus, the enablers of yesteryear’s success no longer hold good.
As a result, there is a need to reimagine, rethink and restructure the organization, its processes and practices therein. A lot many strategies are already in place, but the battle is not won. Agility is the need of the hour in order to catalyze the unleashing of creative solutions, which may significantly differ from the past practices. As part of the Induction Program Phase II on Opportunities and Challenges for Budding Managers IMS Ghaziabad organized an Expert Speakers Session
As part of the Induction Program, Phase II on “Opportunities and Challenges for Budding Managers” for PGDM, Batch 2021-23 students, IMS Ghaziabad (Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad) organized an “Expert Speakers Session” on August 28, 2021. The session, conceptualized under the leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, witnessed the presence of corporate stalwarts Mr. Deepak Jindal, Project Manager, SAP; Mr Tarun Sharma, National Lead- Key Accounts, Aon’s Assessment Solutions; Mr. Varinder Singh, Chief Manger- HR, Fortum India Pvt. Ltd. and Mr Rajesh Popli, Assistant Director-HR, E&Y.
The students were tremendously benefitted by the insights, experiences and wisdom of the corporate luminaries. In their motivating addresses, the experts inspired the students to dream big and have confidence in their dreams. They also suggested the way forward for the students to sail through in the current disruptive times.

Under the guidance of Director, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, IMS Ghaziabad organized an “Alumni Interaction Session” on August 28, 2021 as part of the Induction Program, Phase II on “Opportunities and Challenges for Budding Managers” for PGDM, Batch 2021-23 students. The interactive session was graced by the presence of Mr. Sushant Dubey, Executive VP, Sify Technology Pvt Ltd; Mr Chitransh Mathur, Area Head, Trell.in; Ms Shruti Raina, GM, Neelkanth Town Planner Pvt Ltd; Mr. Dhruv Roy, Lead, National Payments Corporation of India and Mr. Vineet Sarawagi, Head – Contract Legal, SB Energy.
Citing fond anecdotes related to their student lives at IMS, Dr. Makkar congratulated the alumni on their achievements. The alumni shared their experiences and guided the future professionals on the importance of time management, inculcating the right attitude and preparation required for the job market. The nostalgic session also provided an opportunity for the alumni to reconnect with their alma mater.

The mega event was conceived under the guidance of Mr. Naresh Agarwal, Chairman; Mr. Nitin Agarwal, Management Trustee and the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad.In her Inaugural Address, Dr.Makkar welcomed all the dignitaries, keynote speakers, panelists and alumni. She highlighted the rich legacy of the institute and her expectations from the student managers. Using relevant anecdotes, references and examples, she highlighted on the power of dreams and visualization as the keys to success.The program was enriched by the keen insights of Chief Guest, Mr Pankaj Dubey (CEO, Power Global Energy India & Ex-CEO, Eicher), Presidential Speaker, Mr Rajan Bhandari (CEO, Hitachi, MGRM), Keynote Speakers, Mr Sushil Agarwal (CMD, Avro India Pvt. Ltd.), Mr Sharad Verma (National Sales Head South Asia, Hoya Surgical Optics) and many other reputed corporate bigwigs. They shared their experiences and insights on challenges in the contemporary competitive environment amidst the changing nature of jobs. Factors like agility, adaptability, commitment, well-being, analytical bent of mind etc. were highlighted. The sessions were indeed inspirational for the young inquisitive minds of the budding managers who posed a volley of questions before the experts.Amidst the world of business, the environment was not given a miss. Mr Vineet Vohra, a renowned Environmentalist & Speaker, Give Me Trees Trust, New Delhi, urged the students to be equally concerned about the environment, while preparing for their corporate journeys. Emphasizing on co-existence, he reiterated on the value of planting trees and saving the habitat for sustainability of the future generations. The Induction Program was highly instrumental in strengthening the acumen, passion and confidence of the students thus gearing them to face the tough challenges ahead.

It is a known fact that Summer Internships offer students an important opportunity to work closely with professionals as well as development of necessary knowledge, competencies, and experience which are imperative for making them corporate ready. Reemphasizing the relevance of summer internships, IMS Ghaziabad, a premier institute in the domain of management education, conducted the Presentations of Summer Internship Projects (SIPs) of PGDM Batch 2020-22 students in the presence of a Panel of External Experts on August 20th, 2021 (Friday). The evaluation panel of the session was graced by the esteemed presence of corporate experts Mr. Gautam Aggarwal, Principal Consultant, Retail Advisory Services; Ms. Jaspreet Tanda, Team leader (India), Profit Squirrel; Mr. Bhupinder Singh Nayar, Manager – HR & Business Operations, Star Power Distribution Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Faizan Ahmed, National Head-Digital transformation, The Hindu.During the rigorous session, the students presented their Summer Internship Project report before faculty members and corporate experts for final evaluation. The students were tremendously benefitted by the valuable inputs and suggestions provided by the experts. The event culminated with a Feedback & Felicitation Session in the presence of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad, the corporate experts and all the faculty members of the institute for taking the summer internships of the students a step ahead and mentoring them for better and effective Dissertation in the final year.
