To encourage the innovativeness and entrepreneurship culture among students, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), IMS Ghaziabad organized a one day Faculty Development Program on “Training and Learning for Innovation and Entrepreneurship” on Wednesday, July 07, 2021 under the under the inspirational and visionary leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad.
The expert resource person Mr. Rohit Swarup, Founder-Director, Innovation and Research Foundation (IRF) shared the various pedagogics for infusing the creative problem solving and design thinking skills, ideation and validation of business concepts and initiating a start-up. Mr. Rohit also shared that institute has all the necessary intellectual capital, infrastructural facilities as well as dynamic leadership for crafting entrepreneurial culture in institute. Prof. (Dr.) Urvashi Makkar shared institutes’ existing initiatives and future roadmap in developing the institute as recognized learning abode for entrepreneurship and Incubation.
The session was followed by open house interaction to understand the opportunities and challenges for successful start-ups at institute. The Convener, Dr Ajay kumar Patel, President, CIE thanked the Director and the Experts for their valuable insights.

To aid researchers in understanding the nuances of publishing research papers in quality journals, IMS Ghaziabad organized One Day FDP on ‘Getting Your Research Published in Quality Journal: A Systematic Approach’ on Friday, April 30, 2021, under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad
The FDP session was graced by Dr. Pankaj Kumar Gupta, Professor, CMS, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi & Dr.Prabhat Mittal, Associate Professor, Satyawati College (Eve.), University of Delhi. During the session, researchers and academicians were acquainted with some helpful tips for publication in peer-reviewed and high-quality indexed journals. The FDP received overwhelming response from the University of Delhi, Symbiosis Institute of Health Science, University of Mumbai, Brahampur University, JIMS Delhi, Ballari Institute Karnataka, BHU Varanasi, MIT Pune, Banasthali & also from Saudi Arabia and Bhutan. The participants found it very persuasive and illuminating.

IMS Ghaziabad organized a One Week Online FDP on “Machine Learning & Deep Learning using Python”, August 26-31, 2020. The Chief Guest & Expert Speaker for the FDP – Prof Rajiv Ratn Shah, Director MIDAS Lab, IIIT Delhi, was welcomed by Prof Alok Pandey, Director IMS Ghaziabad in the august presence of Dr Tapan k Nayak – Dean Academics, Dr Sachin Malhotra – Dean MCA & Area Chair – I.T, Convener- Rajnesh Jain, Co-Conveners- Dr Smita Agarwal, Nirin Rastogi, Aravendra kumar Sharma, Pankaj Agarwal, Faculty members at IMS Ghaziabad, Industry delegates, Faculty participants and research scholars from renowned universities across India & abroad. Prof Shah shared useful research insights into AI, Machine & Deep Learning with practical examples on Lip reading, Speech to text, Grammar error detection, use of deep learning in finance & stock prediction and more. IMS Ghaziabad, under the dynamic leadership of Prof Alok Pandey, Director IMS Ghaziabad organized a Special session on “Python basics for ML & Deep learning applications” for MCA Students & participants of FDP on “Machine Learning & Deep Learning Applications using Python” (scheduled from August 26-31, 2020) on August 23, 2020. The lecture was delivered by Industry Expert – Mr Kanish, BTech (IIT Roorkee), Software Developer Goldcast. Kanish shared deeper insights into the basics of python – predefined functions, in-depth coverage of Lambdas, predefined libraries – OpenCV, NLTK, Pandas, Numpy & more. During his lecture, he took various coding examples to illustrate the use of these libraries, which helped the students & FDP participants to easily connect the dots and learn the intricacies of python as a language for developing ML & Deep learning applications. One Week Faculty Development Programme on ‘Statistical Analysis & Structural Equation Modeling in Social Sciences using AMOS & Smart PLS’ got successfully concluded at IMS, Ghaziabad with loud appreciations and overwhelming feedback on 14th August, 2020. The FDP was scheduled from August 10 – 14, 2020.
The FDP concluded with the closing remarks by the Director, IMS, Ghaziabad Prof. Alok Pandey who appreciated the efforts of Dr. Abhinav P. Tripathi, Associate Dean FDP and his team for making a significant contribution by enriching the research fraternity. He reiterated the commitment of IMS, Ghaziabad for continuing similar initiatives in future as well for facilitating the training requirements of the people from industry, academia and research. The Resource Persons of this week-long FDP were Dr. Amar Mishra and Dr. Abhinav P. Tripathi who discussed the Basic Statistical Concepts, Measurement & Scaling, Concept of Reliability & Validity, Introduction to SPSS, Data Entry, ANOVA, Non-Parametric Tests, SmartPLS and other important tools of modern research. The mentor of this FDP was Dean Academics Prof. Tapan Kumar Nayak while the Conveners were Prof. Anita Singh, Dr. Sunayana Jain and Dr. Mayank Kumar.

One Week Faculty Development Programme on ‘Statistical Analysis & Structural Equation Modeling in Social Sciences using AMOS & Smart PLS’ commenced at IMS, Ghaziabad with a grand inaugural session on 10th August, 2020. The FDP is scheduled from August 10 – 14, 2020.
The FDP commenced with the Inaugural Address by the Director, IMS, Ghaziabad Prof. Alok Pandey who talked about the plight and prospects of modern research. He shared his practical insights about making researches more valuable and relevant. The welcome address was delivered by the Dean Academics Prof. Tapan Kumar Nayak while the FDP Overview was presented by Prof. Anita Singh. The Expert Speaker of the day was Dr. Amar Mishra who discussed the Basic Statistical Concepts, Measurement & Scaling, Concept of Reliability & Validity, Introduction to SPSS, Data Entry, Cleaning, Coding & Pre-testing. The session was warmly welcomed and highly appreciated by all the participants. The session moderator was Dr Sunayana Jain.

Sessions on Day-2 and 4 of the International FDP on Financial Modelling using Excel were conducted by Mr. Gaurav Dawar and Dr. Pankaj K Agarwal
respectively, faculty members in Finance area at IMS Ghaziabad.
Mr. Gaurav Dawar discussed in detail financial models for equity valuation. He carried out a comprehensive hands-on exercise on valuation of stocks with Free Cash Flow approach. He also threw light on dos and don’ts of valuation.
Dr. Pankaj K Agarwal conducted a session on Portfolio Modelling. He carried out a hands-on exercise on creating portfolios with given objectives; both when short sales are allowed and when not. In addition, he shared tips for faster usage of excel.
The sessions generated excellent feedback. The program is being managed by the team comprising Dr. Pankaj K Agarwal, Mr. Gaurav Dawar and Dr. Ankit Goel with support of various IMS functionaries.
The sessions on Day-3 of the ongoing International FDP on Financial Modelling using Excel were conducted by Dr. Dr. Dietmar Ernst, Professor of Finance, Chair Professor of International Finance, Nuertingen Geislingen University,Germany.
The sessions on Day-3 of the ongoing International FDP on Financial Modelling using Excel were conducted by Dr. Dr. Dietmar Ernst, Professor of Finance, Chair Professor of International Finance, Nuertingen Geislingen University,Germany. Prof. Ernst discussed in detail financial models for project evaluation and risk management. He covered techniques like NPV, IRR, MIRR, Sensitivity analysis and Monte Carlo simulation. The session was conducted in hands-on mode and generated excellent feedback.
Prof. Alok Pandey, Ph. D., Director IMS Ghaziabad welcomed the speaker and participants and exhorted them to make full use of the opportunity. Dr. Tapan K Nayak, Dean Academics also motivated the participants. The session was managed by the team comprising Dr. Pankaj K Agarwal, Mr. Gaurav Dawar and Dr. Ankit Goel with support of various IMS functionaries.
