Three-day workshop on ‘Improving Managerial Skills through Drama and Theatre’ organized by IMS, Ghaziabad got concluded on 21st August, 2020. The Resource Person of this eagerly attended the workshop was the former corporate executive and the famous Cinema, TV and Theatre personality Mr. Pranay Dixit who, on the last day of the workshop, shared that failures and testing times occur in life but we should neither take them to heart nor should stop trying. Citing examples from his own life he shared that if one door closes for us, another opens. We should remain vigilant and deliver quality whenever we get an opportunity. During the workshop, he delivered important sessions Team Building, Leadership, Time Management, Stress Management and Confidence Building. The workshop was attended by all PGDM students and faculty members who found it extremely useful and enriching.
Mr. Pranay Dixit is an inspiring alumnus of IMS, Ghaziabad and has done more than 600 roles in TV serials, three short films and a full-fledged Hindi feature film. Apart from being a prominent face of iconic TV shows, Mr. Pranay has done an award-winning movie ‘ROAR- The Tigers of the Sunderbans’. His popular TV Shows include Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, Lapataganj, FIR, Chidiyaghar, Gilli Gilli Gappa, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, May I Come In Madam, Neeli Chatri Wale, Jija Ji Chath Par Hain and many more. The workshop was scheduled from August 19 – 21, 2020.

On the second day of the three-day workshop on ‘Improving Managerial Skills through Drama and Theatre’ organized by IMS, Ghaziabad, the former corporate executive and the famous Cinema, TV and Theatre personality Mr. Pranay Dixit highlighted the importance of perseverance and hard-work by citing the interesting examples from his personal life. He shared how he brought business to the bank and earned recognition in the beginning of his career, how he did innovations and accepted the challenges while working with a media house and finally how he got his first break for acting which was his dream destination. All the PGDM students and faculty members found his session extremely useful and inspiring which included open heart deliberations on managing life and career, cost effectiveness, rough and tough positive attitude and maintaining cool during adversities. IMS Ghaziabad organized Online Software Testing Workshop for MCA (2018-21) & (2019-21) Students. The Workshop was conducted by Mr. Sushil Singh, Technical Lead, HCL Technologies and MCA 2008-2011 Alumnus of IMS Ghaziabad. During the workshop, sushil introduced various concepts of Testing – manual and automation among other and also demonstrated the use of selenium in testing. He took various examples and also gave students tips for cracking placement interviews. Students were very much pleased & satisfied with the practical exposure gained during the workshop.

The Webinar was conducted by Mr Anshul Sharma, CEO & Business Head, Fluper
The Webinar was attended by all MCA Students and moderated by Dr Sachin Malhotra, Dean MCA & Area Chair – I.T. During the Webinar, Anshul took various examples of how business and sector have been affected by Covid19 but at the same time there are business that are thriving as well. he took numerous examples of IT Businesses and services that are thriving and have witnessed a 300% increase. As a regular recruiter at IMS Ghaziabad, He urged the MCA Students to focus on their potential and use the lockdown to sharpen their technical, interpersonal and communication skills. He apprised the students that many IT companies would recruit online even before the lockdown is over and they will have ample opportunities after the lockdown is over. He addressed the students to have a positive attitude and motivated them to continue their learning.
Students inquisitively interacted with him and asked lot of questions about what to focus and how companies would hire them.

IMS Ghaziabad has organized MATRIBHASHA DIWAS to promote the dissemination of mother tongues and a fuller awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the world among the student fraternity of PGDM Batch (2018-2020)& (2019-2021) on 20th February 2020 under the kind patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Alok Pandey, Director IMS Ghaziabad.
The symposium witnessed the presence of Dr.Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean Academics, Dr.Sachin Malhotra, Dean MCA, Ms. Anchal Mishra, Associate Professor. The program started with opening remarks byDr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean Academics, IMS Ghaziabad, highlighting the importance of being connected with one’s own culture, language, and its importance. Exuberant students shared their thoughts by taking part in the program and expressed their views on Mother-tongue, the lost importance and the feeling of belongingness to their respective matribhasha.
Faculty members also shared their feelings in their respective mother-tongue. In the end, Ms. Anchal Mishra, coordinator of the event concluded with “Vote of Thanks” to the august gathering.

IMS Ghaziabad has organized a One day workshop of “Meditation” for the students of PGDM batch (2018-2020) & (2019-2021) on February 17, 2020, under the kind patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Alok Pandey, Director, IMS Ghaziabad.
The Workshop witnessed the presence of the expert speakers, BK Sister Sonia ( Life Skills Trainer), BK Sister Monica, BK Sister Lalita, Dr.Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean Academics, Dr. Sachin Malhotra, Dean MCA & Area Chair- I.T., Prof. Tushar Mahajan, Ms. Anchal Mishra, Ms. Preeti Sirohi, Mr. S.P. Singh, Registrar, IMS Ghaziabad.
The program started with the opening remarks of Dr.Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean Academics and followed by the expert speaker BK Sister Sonia.
Around 50 students have taken part in the workshop and the focus was on the awareness about the meditation and to develop concentration, clarity, emotional positivity and a calm seeing of the true nature of things in the students.
Expert Speaker BK Sister Sonia introduced the students to the Meditation and Art of Happy Living. The primary goal of the session was to give exposure to and understanding of how practicing Meditation can bring a transformative effect and can lead to a new understanding of life.
In the end, Prof. Tushar Mahajan, coordinator of the workshop concluded the session with “Vote of Thanks” to the august gathering.

IMS Ghaziabad has organized a One day workshop of “Human Values and Professional Ethics” for the students of PGDM batch (2018-2020) & (2019-2021) on February 18, 2020, under the kind patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Alok Pandey Director IMS Ghaziabad.
The Workshop witnessed the presence of the expert speaker, Mr. B.N. Pandey, Assistant Professor, AKGEC, Ghaziabad, esteemed Director Prof. Alok Pandey, Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean Academics, Ms. Anchal Mishra, Associate Professor.
The program started with the opening remarks of Prof. (Dr.) Alok Pandey, Director IMS Ghaziabad and followed by the expert speaker Mr. B. N. Pandey, Prof. Alok Pandey highlighted the corruption prevalent in the Indian society and advised students to avoid stepping on other’s feet.
Around 100 students have taken part in the workshop and the focus was on the awareness of the need for Human Values and Professional Ethics.
Expert Speaker introduced the students to the Holistic Development and Role of Education in Life and its application in solving the problems of life. The primary goal of the session was to give the exposure and understanding of how values give worthiness and respect to life.

A workshop on innovation and entrepreneurship and IIC outside teams interaction was organized on 24th Jan, 2020 at IMS, Ghaziabad campus. Students of IIT Roorkee visited IMS, Ghaziabad to share their experiences in the areas of Innovation and Entrepreneurship under the aegis of Institution’s Innovation Council setup under MHRD, GOI. Students members of IIC cell @ IMS, Ghaziabad, interacted with the IIT students and learnt of their own experiences. It was a great and very useful interaction.

An ‘Awareness Workshop’ on ‘Nalanda E-Consortium’ – Digital Databases was organised @Institute of Management Studies (IMS), Ghaziabad by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.
It was inaugurated by Prof. Virendra Pathak, Director, UP Institute of Design with a welcome address by Prof. Alok Pandey, Ph.D., Director IMS Ghaziabad. It was an honour for us to host Senior Librarians, Deans and Directors of several institutions who participated in day long deliberations by delegates from Top digital databases – Springer, Emerald, EBSCO, IEEE, Elsevier, JSTOR, Taylor & Francis, McGraw Hill to name a few.

Workshop on Design Thinking organized at IMS, Ghaziabad under the aegis of IIC
A special workshop on the theme – Design Thinking was conducted at IMS, Ghaziabad campus on 24th Dec, 2019 for the PGDM and MCA students of the institute. The objective of the workshop was to sensitize the future entrepreneurs towards the importance of correct and innovative design thinking for increasing the success quotient of any new entrepreneurial and startup venture. Mr. Aman Bandvi, advisor and Mr. Hemant Kumar Shrivastava, founder of Coaction Technologies Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi conducted this 3 hour workshop for our PGDM students on 24th Dec, 2019 at our campus. One of the important aspect of the workshop was the overwhelming response from the students of IMS, Ghaiabad who took their seats almost 30 minutes before the start of the workshop and showed keen interest in the workshop. Approximately 100 students attended this workshop where the speakers carried out a plethora of activities to drive upon the idea of applying design thinking mind to find workable & affordable solutions to day to day common problems faced by masses in rural and urban setup related to several facets of life in Indian society and industry. All the sessions by both the speakers were highly interactive and unique. The program was managed by Prof, Vijesh Jain, Professor in the IB area.
