Special Seminar on “Commodity Awareness Programme” held on September 10, 2019 at IMS Ghaziabad,
Under the auspices of “Special Seminar Series 2019”, a seminal lecture was organized at IMS Ghaziabad on September 10, 2019 for the benefits of IMSians..Mr. Vinit Singh Kaler, a seasoned trainer with MCX Mumbai was the Guest of Honour. He was welcomed by Prof. Alok Pandey, Director IMS Ghaziabad.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Pandey drew attention on the importance of MCX which has crossed a turnover of INR 65 lakh crore and going high further. In his address to the students he asked “why do we need trading in commodity?”In his opinion everyone should understand asset classes like equity, debt instruments, commodity, currency, real estate etc. Prof. Pandey also emphasized that IMS Ghaziabad has signed MOU with MCX for knowledge sharing and research purpose and the present seminar was the outcome of that initiative.
Mr. Vinit Singh Kaler, who is a seasoned trainer with enriched corporate experience, introduced the audience with the historical development of the MCX in India and drew attention on Derivatives and Commodity Markets. In his view risks are associated with every asset class and it can be minimized in commodity market through commodity derivatives.. There are 20-25 commodities in the MCX ranging from Agri products to bullion, energy, and metals. He also highlighted that MCX has over INR 80,000 crore of turnover per day and also MCX boasts of over 40 lakh user terminals across the country. In the end he also talked about ‘Dos and Don’t for the new entrants in the commodity market. After the lecture , “Question & Answer session” took place followed by “Vote of Thanks” to the distinguished guests.

IMS Ghaziabad is pleased to share that Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized its 5th Episode- Promoting “Skills through Inter College Engagement” on the Theme- “Majestic Skill Will Lead”. PGDM Students presented Synopsis of Complete Books – written by- Joseph A. Michelli on the Title “This Starbucks Experience- 5 Principles of Turning Ordinary in to Extra Ordinary’’ at IMS Ghaziabad UG Campus on April 24, 2018.
Students from Top Institutions participated in the contest. IMS Ghaziabad PGDM Students – Ms. Niharika Sharma, Ms. Durgesh Nandini, Ms. Shweta Jaiswal, Ms. Anchal Wadhwan secured the 2nd Position and won cash prize of Rs. 15,000/-
Congratulations to the whole team for such a marvelous and outstanding performance. Kudos to the Faculty Team, shortlisted Students and CRC Team of IMS for their dedication and efforts to take IMS Ghaziabad to scale new height.

The key objective of the Summit was to discuss Machine to Machine communications (M2M), Connected Mobility, Healthcare & Medical Devices, Smart Homes and Smart Cities. The Summit witnessed the senior executives from top I.T Organizations like Oracle, CSI India, ERNET, SENSEnuts and more. Under the stewardship of the visionary Director of IMS Ghaziabad-Prof. J. P. Sharma, a new specialization- International Business was launched for PGDM students. To boost the morale of students, an Industrial visit was organized for Inland Container Depot (ICD) Tughlakabad.
The PGDM II Year (Batch 2016-18) students of International Business (IB) specialization visited Inland Container Depot (ICD) Tughlakabad, Delhi on September 15, 2017. The ICD Tughlakhabad is one of the oldest but most modernized, dry port which handles imports and exports bound containers through railways from gateway ports like Mumbai, Nhava Sheva, or Chennai or by road like Kandla, Haldia Kolkata. ICD Tughlakabd has Exports and Imports clearances in its premises. While the Indian Customs handle the all clearance related to Imports & Exports, the Container Corporation (CONCOR), is a custodian of the premise and the CISF undertakes all security related aspects.
The Superintendent (Imports), explained the different processes related to imports- seal checking & breaking process of an import container, de-stuffing and mandatory customs inspection, bonded warehouse and related clearance formalities by an importer. The Sr. Manager, Mr. Chaudhary (Imports-CONCOR), explained the customs clearance formalities to the students. In the exports division, students were shown the formalities related to pre-shipment inspections, and other warehousing clearances. The Asst. Commissioner, Mr. Malhotra (Imports) also met the students. Finally, Dr. S. K. Dube, Area Chairperson-IB, who was accompanying the students, on behalf of the IMS Ghaziabad, extended thanks to all the authorities, for facilitating and extending hospitality during the visit.

IMS Ghaziabad organized Workshop on Python for MCA Students, September 13, 2017
Keeping up with its commitment to provide holistic development and Industry Exposure to all its MCA Students, IMS Ghaziabad, under the stewardship of Prof. J.P. Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad, organized a Full day ‘Workshop on Python’ for MCA Students on September 13, 2017. The workshop was conducted by senior expert and corporate trainer – Mr Ashu Lekhi from 3a Learning Solution Pvt Ltd.
The objective of this training was to give an exposure and understanding of Python language used in Industry to our MCA Students. Senior Technical experts extensively trained the students on development with practical hands on in Computer Labs and a lot of discussion revolved around the future prospects in I.T Industry. The workshop was particularly useful for the students in enhancing their domain knowledge which ultimately reflects in their productivity and employability.
