IMSians participated in Growth Net Annual Sumit

IMS’ians participated in Ananta’s 4TH Growth Net Annual Summit, April 7-8, 2016

Keeping up with its commitment to provide 360 Degree Holistic development, IMS Ghaziabad PGDM students participated in Ananta’s 4TH Annual Summit – “The Growth Net: Restoring Higher growth in Emerging Markets” at Hotel Taj Palace on April 7th and 8th April, 2016 under the Corporate Interface Series.

There were sixteen plenary sessions planned in these two days where speakers across various industry and academia have given their excellent deliberations.

The first eight plenary sessions had discussions on Indian Monetary policy, a riskier geopolitical environment and its impact on global economy, US economy impact on emerging markets, and infrastructural development for emerging economies. The prominent speakers were Hon’ble Minister of Finance – Shri. Arun Jaitley; Hon’ble Minister of Railways – Shri Suresh Prabhu; Hon’ble M.P – Shri. Shashi Tharoor, Hon’ble Minister of State – Power – Shri Piyush Goyal; Deputy Prime Minister, Singapore – Shri Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Commerce Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and industry – Smt Rita Teotia, Chairman, Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Limited – Shri Jamshyd N Godrej; Chairman NSDC – Shri S Ramadorai; Vice Chairman, Bharti Enterprises – Shri Rakesh Bharti Mittal, and Shri N K Singh, Senior Member, BJP.

The latter eight sessions witnessed elaborate discussion on addressing India’s Challenge, India’s Capital Market regulations, Emerging consuming middle class, Digital India and Make in India help meet India’s growth challenges. The eminent speakers were Hon’ble Minister of State – Finance – Shri Jayant Sinha; M.D, BSE – Shri Ashish Chauhan; Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India Limited – Shri R C Bhargav; President, Tel Aviv University, Israel – Shri Joseph Klafter; Chairman, TRAI – Shri Ram Sewak Sharma; Prof Richard W .X. Hu, University of Hongkong and Vice Chairman, Nissan Motor – Shri Toshiyuki Shiga.

PGDM Students were delighted to learn from eminent national and international personalities of repute.

Farewell of PGDM 2014-16 at IMS Ghaziabad

“Students entered the campus as raw inputs and leaves the Institute as polished corporate professionals” with this notion and the rich tradition, IMS Ghaziabad bid farewell to PGDM 2014-16 batch on April 02, 2016. Students of current PGDM batch 2015-17 organized the farewell for PGDM 2014-16 batch on the theme of Devils and Angels, where boys were dressed in black suits and girls were dressed red/pink outfits. The décor of the auditorium was uniquely designed and was complimenting the theme.

PGDM first year students welcomed Prof. J.P Sharma, Director, Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Programme Chairperson and Dr. Avadhesh Gupta, HoD – MCA with flower bouquets and also welcomed all faculty, Staff and students present during the function. In his welcome address, Dr. Sharma stated that from now onwards the 2016 passed out are proud alumni of IMS Ghaziabad and congratulated them on their excellent placement in “A” listed companies. He also encouraged the batch to stay connected and be an active contributor in forthcoming success of their alma mater.

There were various award categories like 24×7 Student Award, Student of the batch, Devil of the Batch and many more. Nominated students were awarded by the faculty members. Dr. Sharma, Dr. Nayak and Dr. Gupta conferred the “Student of the Batch” award to Mr. Umang Mittal and Ms. Komal Nawani. The event was full of many cultural performances like dance, singing and Mimicry performed by first year students. The valuable and mesmerizing farewell was concluded followed by DJ and dinner.

Special Seminar Series, April 05 – 18, 2016 at IMS Ghaziabad

Under the stewardship of our visionary Director – Prof. J.P. Sharma, “Special Seminar Series” is being organized at IMS Ghaziabad from April 05 – 18, 2016, to enhance the “Academic Excellence” in the campus. IMS PGDM Students visited Mother Diary

To enhance the Corporate Exposure, an Industry Visit to Mother Dairy Plant was organized on 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th August 2015. All 300 students of PGDM 2015-17 batch visited Mother Dairy Plant, New Delhi in a team-size of 75 students.
Mother Dairy is one of the largest liquid milk operative organizations in Asia. All the Students were benefitted with knowledge of classification of milk according to PF norm, advantage of cold milk, various possible alteration, and practical of milk testing. It was an interactive session with the Mother Dairy dignitaries to satisfy the quest of young minds. Faculty Members Dr. Shalini Agarwal, Dr. Neeraj Sanghi, Dr. Sanjay Jerath and Dr. Tushar Mahajan along with CRC Members Mr. Rohit Sehgal, Ms. Nidhi Agrawal and Mr. B P Singh accompanied the students on four visits. Students took a keen interest to understand the various aspects of the business. They were briefed on topics as collection, testing, storage, packaging and distribution of milk and Ice creams.

Workshop on Sales and Negotiation skills for PGDM 2014-16

IMS Ghaziabad in its continuous efforts to provide an intellectual learning platform for students, organized Sales and Negotiation Workshop for PGDM 2014-16 batch from August 03-05, 2015. PGDM students feel highly privileged to have Mr. Anurag Urmaliya – National Account Service Manager, Airtel, Rajasthan and Ms. Aanchal Badola -Area Manager, Educomp; Alumni of PGDM 2006-08 batch back to their alma mater to influence the students and improve their strategies on the Sales and Negotiations.

During the inaugural ceremony of the workshop , Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad welcomed the alumni to their second home and shared her views on the importance of required skill-set for Sales and Negotiations. The workshop was craftily designed with the help of indoor and outdoor activities to imbibe the concept and practical implementation within the students’. The contemporary examples of negotiation in the industry enriched the knowledge of students. They learned the tools, techniques and savvy sales negotiation tactics that enabled them to influence the buyer’s perception of cost, value and benefits. The workshop concluded with the certificate of participation to all students.

26th PGDM Induction Programme at IMS Ghaziabad – Day V

The Fifth Day of One- Week PGDM Induction program of batch 2015-17 commenced with the presence of Shri Rakesh Chharia, Managing Trustee – IMS Ghaziabad ; Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director- IMS Ghaziabad and Senior alumni from the top global companies. Dr. Makkar during her address welcomed the Alumni to their second home. She described the importance of Alumni in enhancement of intellectual capital and brings laurels to the Institute.

The Occasion was graced by the presence of Senior Alumni – Mr. Manoj Mudgal, BPM, Bharti Airtel ; Mr. Himanshu Talwar, Founder & MD, Pliable Inc. ; Mr. Ameeth Sethi, Senior Manager, IndusInd Bank; Mr. Anurag Urmaliya, Recovery Head, Bharti Airtel; Mr. Prateek Agarwal, Area Manager, TVS Motors; Ms. Aanchal Badola, Reliance Communication ; Mr. Akash Singhal, ABP Group and Mr. Amol Agarwal, Amrapali Group. Alumni shared their valuable corporate experiences with the budding managers and motivated them to utilize each and every opportunity provided by the institute. Dr. Sanjay Jaerath and Dr. Yogita Sharma presented the vote of thanks to the Alumni.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director expressed her gratitude towards all Distinguished Guests, Dignified Academicians for their valuable contribution during Induction Programme. The intellectual one-week Programme ended with the hope and belief that fresh PGDM students will inculcate these learnings and teachings of corporate world and will contribute to themselves, Institute, Society and Nation. More than 400 students including Faculty and Staff Members of the Institute attended the event.

Essay competition – Participation Open

On the occasion of International Yoga Day’ on 21st June 2015, IMS Ghaziabad is organizing an Online Essay Competition to commemorate the spirit of well-being. The objective of the program is to create awareness about the culture of Yoga in India and benefits of practising yoga and integrating it in our daily lives.

The competition is open for two categories :
– Students
– Faculty and Staff Members

Essay competition topics are:
– Modern living and Yoga
– Yoga at workplace
– Integrating Yoga with Professional life

Takeaways and Prizes:
– Best five essays will be selected from both categories and awarded with Certificate of Merit and prizes.

Language:
– Hindi or English

Limit:
– 1000-1500 words on any of the topic at the email given below

Evaluation criteria:
1. Interpretation of topic/introduction
2. Structure and flow
3. Language and grammar
4. Creativity/Originality
5. Relevance
6. Conclusion
