PANEL DISCUSSION ON “TRENDS & FUTURE PROSPECTS OF HR” SATURDAY, DECEMBER 03, 2016 In our constant endeavor to achieve Academic Excellence, HR Department of IMSGhaziabad under the stewardship of Prof. J.P. Sharma Director IMS Ghaziabad, organized “Panel Discussion on TRENDS & FUTURE PROSPECTS OF HR” for PGDM Students on Saturday, December 03, 2016. The mega event witnessed the presence of HR Stalwarts – Dr. Debi Singh Saini, Ex Professor, MDI, Gurgaon, Mr. Anupam Malik, Additional Labour Commissioner, Chandigarh Haryana, Mr. Avinash Chandra Joshi, Director (HR) UJVN Ltd. and Dr. Nanditesh Nilay, Chairman, ISTD Delhi Chapter. Prof. J. P. Sharma welcomed Guest for the day. Dr. Saini shared his thoughts about changing dynamics of HR, emerging debate on abolishing HR department and requirement of HR Skills among all other functional domains. The audience felt enriched with the deliberation by Mr. Anupam Malik on the theme of Social Dialogue: The ultimate HR Technology. He also discussed his experiments on social dialogue in different companies. Mr. Avinash Chandra Joshi and Dr. Nanditesh Nilay shared the current HR practices in government and private organizations. The expert speakers, post the presentation session, answered the questions raised by the students. The session was moderated by Dr. Saini. The students were quite involved and enthusiastic while asking questions from the experts. It was an enriching experience for the audience and the session concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak Program Chairperson (PGDM). The conveners of the event Dr. Lata Bajpai Singh, Area Chairperson HR & Dr. Anjali Rai vowed to organize such events in future, after witnessing the overwhelming response of the students.
Celebration of Constitution Day 2016 at IMS Ghaziabad
126th Birth Day Celebration of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar at IMS Ghaziabad “Celebration of Constitution Day 2016” To commemorate of 126th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Rao Ambedkar, founder of Indian Constitution, IMS Ghaziabad organized Constitution Day, under the kind patronage of Prof. J.P Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad, on November 26, 2016. Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi has taken this initiative to celebrate the Constitution Day every year in order to reiterate the contributions of Dr. B R Ambedkar in nation building as a whole and development & creation of our constitution. Prof. J.P Sharma, Director, IMS Ghaziabad in his inaugural address eulogized the contribution of Babasaheb in Indian democracy. He further highlighted the essence of the Preamble of our Constitution. PGDM Ist Year students too deliberated on the topics, sections and articles of our constitution. IMS Ghaziabad showed solidarity to our Constitution, by conducting “Oath Ceremony” for all its faculty & staff along with PGDM Students. Dr. Anchal Mishra, Area Chairperson, PPSP, offered “Oath” to all. Mr. Karan Sabharwal, Assistant Professor, expressed “Vote of Thanks”, to all the dignitaries, faculty & staff members of the Institute. All Faculty, Staff members & Students enthusiastically participated in the event.

Under the stewardship of Director IMS Ghaziabad, Prof. J.P. Sharma, a one day FDP on “Successful Case Teaching: Bringing Field to Class” was organized on November 19, 2016 at MDP Room of IMS Ghaziabad. In his inaugural address, Prof. J.P.Sharma, stressed on the need for quality “Case Studies” in B-Schools. It helps in simulating a situation and drawing best-fit solutions by the budding managers.
Dr. Dwarika Prasad Uniyal, Assistant Dean,IIM-Kashipur( Dehradun campus), with its enriched experience of over 17 years in premier B-Schools, underlined the need for communicating properly with the learners. He initiated a discussion with the participants on video clip- “Cargo Cult”. Dr. Uniyal also took up a case on “Parable of a Sadhu”. During his discussion, he also stressed on the need for strong communications skills and theatrics in order to leave impact on the audience.
In the second session, Dr. Deepak Tandon, Professor (Finance & Accounting), & Programme Chairperson-PGDMBFS, of IMI, New Delhi, took up “Case Writing & Publishing” aspects. In his view, Case Writing requires updated information and data related to a company besides declaration from the CEO of the company. He also encouraged participants towards case writing.
The program was anchored by FDP Co-convner Ms Servjaeta Verma. It concluded with a “Valedictory Session”, where all participants were given “Certificate of Participation”, in the presence of Director, Prof. J.P.Sharma and Chairperson-FDP/MDP Dr. S K Dube. The Program Chair-PGDM DR. Tapan Kumar Nayak and HOD MCA Dr. Awadhesh Gupta were also present. FDP Convener Dr. Pankaj K. Agarwal, proposed a “Vote of Thanks”.

IMS Ghaziabad organized Special Yoga session, November 11, 2016 Yoga is very important for everyone’s life as it helps in balancing the relationship between body and mind. To promulgate the importance of Yoga amongst its students, faculty & staff members, IMS Ghaziabad organized a Special Yoga session on November 11, 2016. Prof. J.P Sharma, Director – IMS Ghaziabad inaugurated the event by emphasizing the contribution of yoga in maintaining fitness, good health and how it can help the students in memorising and understanding concepts. He stressed upon the fact that yoga is the scientific way of living healthy and increasing life expectancy. The Special Yoga Session was conducted by Mr. Dharmendar Panwar, a well-known yoga trainer. The demonstration aimed at inspiring young minds to incorporate yoga into their daily routine, awaken and explore subtle energies to have a better control over the mind and body. Students performed different asanas under the guidance of the expert yoga trainer. All Faculty, Staff members, PGDM and MCA Students enthusiastically participated in the event.

The “Special Seminar Series” is being initiated under the stewardship of Director IMS, Prof. J. P. Sharma, with the sole objective of encouraging “Holistic Development” in the campus by inviting “Academic Luminaries” from all over the globe.
Hon’ble Preacher Pitambar Krishna Das (ISKCON), New Delhi, a technocrat turned spiritualist, in his “Seminal Lecture, invoked ‘Mangalacharan’ before delivering his speech. He cited references from world renowned Astrophysicist, Stefan Hawkins’s book, “The Brief History Time”, to answer the question, “Why we and the universe exist?”. Preacher Pitambar Das took several issues related to spirituality, faith, atheist etc. In his view, Science deals with facts and religion with faith”. He said, even study of Science is faith. Science refines the truth but doesn’t give absolute truth. He asked, “Are Vedas Mythology?”. He further quoted a western study that as “Spiritual Quotient (SQ)” and faithfulness increases, life gets longer than the in case of non-spiritual one. Finally, he quoted Max Planck, for his views –“in case of religion, God is at the beginning and for Science, God is at the end”.

Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad. Maa Durga is the embodiment of the divine energy and the creative power. In Vedic Mantras, the Mother is the Prime God. Mother is the biggest and the most effective teacher of their children who can mould their future. All the faculty, staff, students sought blessings of Maa Durga along with Shri Rakesh Chharia, General Secretary, IMS Society, Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director IMSUC, Dr Tapan Kumar Nayak, Chairperson – PGDM, , Dr. Avadhesh Kumar Gupta, Head MCA, Dr Pooja Dwivedi, Dean IMSUC, Mr. Rajnish Jain, Area Chairperson – Boys Hostel, Ms. Khushboo Sherwani – Member, Girls Hostel, Mr. Komal Budhraja, Chairperson – Admissions, Mr. S.P.
