IMSians knocked Hackathon
IMS Ghaziabad, under the stewardship of Prof. J.P. Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad, takes pride & joy in congratulating meritorious MCA students of IMS for their exemplary performance in C# Corner Code Hackathon, a one day event, sponsored by MCN Professionals, on October 25, 2016.
We are pleased to share MCA 2nd year Students of IMS Ghaziabad, Prabhat Singh stood 2nd and Rahul Kumar Shakaya stood 5th in the competition which witnessed participants from Top notch institutions in Delhi NCR. Code Hackathon was a coding competition where students showcased their Programming skills in C, C++, Java, VB, C#.NET and PHP. Prof. Sharma congratulated the students for their success and wished them all the best for their future endeavours.

Keeping up with its commitment to provide holistic development to its MCA students, IMS Ghaziabad, under the chairpersonship of our esteemed Director, Prof. J. P. Sharma, organized a Special lecture on “Wireless Networks”, October 20, 2016 for MCA Students. Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Chairperson, PGDM, Dr. Avadhesh Kumar Gupta, Head MCA & Dr. Vikas Chaudhary, Chairperson – Special lectures, seminars and conferences – MCA Programme, welcomed Guest of the day, Dr. D. K. Lobiyal, Professor, School of Computer & Systems Sciences, J.N.U, New Delhi.
Dr. Lobiyal enlightened the MCA Students on the most contemporary topic, which touches everyone’s lives, Wireless Networks and Wireless Sensor networks. He explained at large – how they function, their specific characteristic, various issues, challenges, requirements etc. He apprised the students about the various applications of Wireless Sensor Networks like the Smart City project adopted by Govt. of India, Sensor Networks used for Animal Tracking & Welfare in forests, Congestion Control on Roads to name a few. The students were a lot wiser at the end of the session.
Towards the end, Dr. Sheelesh kumar Sharma, Associate professor – I.T proposed the vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude towards the Guest of Honor, Director, coordinators and the august audience.
MCA Fresher Party 2016 @ IMS Ghaziabad
MCA Fresher Party 2016 @ IMSGhaziabad MCA Students, under the kind patronage of Prof J.P. Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad, organized a sumptuous fresher’s party for their juniors, on October 15, 2016. it was an ecstasy filled afternoon, where the new entrants not only got the opportunity to showcase their talents but also interact with their seniors. Jovial smiles and high spirits marked the welcome party for the new entrants. Prof. Sharma congratulated the students for organizing the event. With pulsating ambience, flashing lights and foot tapping music, the party began with a blast. The event witnessed gala dance performances from the senior batch along with other enthralling performances. MCA first year students participated whole heartedly for the titles of Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2016. Sidhartha Srivastava & Deepika Geetanjali were crowned Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2016. Ms. Anamika Pandit bagged Ms. Talent 2016. The electrifying atmosphere was filled with fun, enthusiasm and excitement.

IMS Ghaziabad organized Mata Ki Chowki To seek the blessings of Maa Durga, IMS Hostel residents, organized auspicious ‘Mata ki Chowki’ on Saturday, October 08, 2016 under the kind patronage of Prof J.P. Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad. Maa Durga is the embodiment of the divine energy and the creative power. In Vedic Mantras, the Mother is the Prime God. Mother is the biggest and the most effective teacher of their children who can mould their future. All the faculty, staff, students sought blessings of Maa Durga along with Shri Rakesh Chharia, General Secretary, IMS Society, Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director IMSUC, Dr Tapan Kumar Nayak, Chairperson – PGDM, , Dr. Avadhesh Kumar Gupta, Head MCA, Dr Pooja Dwivedi, Dean IMSUC, Mr. Rajnish Jain, Area Chairperson – Boys Hostel, Ms. Khushboo Sherwani – Member, Girls Hostel, Mr. Komal Budhraja, Chairperson – Admissions, Mr. S.P. Singh, Registrar among others. The people were captivated in the ultimate atmosphere of Bhakti. The vicinity echoed with the loud voices of the praises of Goddess Durga after which all the devotees were served with ‘prasad’ followed by the gala dinner.
Workshop on Entrepreneurship @ IMSGhaziabad, October 6-7, 2016
The Entrepreneurial Student’s Society (TESS) under the kind patronage of Prof. J. P. Sharma, Director, IMS Ghaziabad, organized 2 days workshop on Entrepreneurship, October 6-7, 2016. The workshop was organized with an aim to direct young budding Entrepreneurs to come up with their business idea and look forward to participate in CARPE DIEM 2K16-17, an event organized by IIM Calcutta along with Make Intern as partners. The resource person was Mr. Ankit Narang who himself is an established Entrepreneur and a quintessential professional with immense knowledge in Digital Marketing.
A batch of 30 students from PGDM First and Second year participated enthusiastically in the workshop and finally 5 students were shortlisted by the jury, who will be representing IMS Ghaziabad with their business plan at IIM Calcutta. They stand a chance to win prizes worth Rs. 50,000. Dr. Sunayana Jain, Chairperson, TESS expressed her gratitude to Prof. J. P Sharma, Director, IMS, Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Program Chairperson, PGDM and Ms. Servajaeta Verma, Member, TESS for their immense support and guidance during the conduct of the training.

Big Data Workshop for MCA Students, October 6, 2016 Keeping up with its commitment to provide holistic development to all its MCA Students, IMS Ghaziabad, under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prof. J.P. Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad, organized a ‘Big Data Workshop’ for MCA Students on October 6, 2016. The workshop was conducted, as part of “Industry Academia Interface”, by Mr. Shobit Agarwal, Senior Industry Expert from Kogentix Technologies, having a vast experience in the field of Big Data and Hadoop Technologies. The objective of this training was to give the Students an exposure and understanding of latest technologies used in Industry. Mr. Agarwal extensively trained the students on Big Data essentials & shared his practical experiences with the students. He also discussed a lot of cases where Big Data implementation was a must; where RDBMS failed and how a lot of Companies across the globe have benefited from it. The workshop was particularly useful for students in enhancing their knowledge domain and would give them an edge over their peers.
