Guest Lecture on “Branding and Promotion” at IMS Ghaziabad
IMS Ghaziabad is putting constant efforts in enriching its students with knowledge and global experience. Taking the legacy forward, IMS Ghaziabad presented a unique opportunity to its PGDM students by arranging a special guest lecture on “Branding and Promotion” by Mr. Hashan Haputhanthri, Head-TVS Motors, Srilanka on April 25, 2015.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director IMS Ghaziabad welcomed Mr. Hashan Haputhanthri and encouraged PGDM Students to learn from the rich experience of such international delegate. The Guest Lecture begun with the launch of a book titled “Bransology” authored by Mr Hashan Haputhanthri and inaugurated by Dr. Urvashi Makkar-Director, IMS Ghaziabad.
Mr. Hashan explained the role of Branding and Promotion in business decision making process in a very innovative manner. He emphasized on the practical application of the concepts studied in class by giving relevant examples from his own experiences. He further emphasized that how the dedication and commitment towards work can drive the student from no-where to somewhere in the business life. The students were really overwhelmed by the inputs given by Mr. Hashan on such a significant topic. The session proved to be a real knowledge enhancing session for the students as well as for the faculty members. At the end, Dr. Tapan K Nayak, PGDM Chairperson summarized the session to the students and proposed the Vote of thanks to the guest.
2nd Mock Interview session at IMS Ghaziabad
Alumni are the foundation of an Institute, who are leader and pioneer in the corporate industry and acts as a torchbearer for their upcoming generation. In order to polish the PGDM Students, 2nd Mock Interview session has been planned where alumni interviewed the current batch and guided them by sharing open feedback.
IMS Ghaziabad once again invited their eminent talented alumni Ms. Vijayalaxmi Saxena and Mr. Ankit Goel from PGDM 2008-10 Batchto share their successful journey via interviewing the current PGDM students. They suggested Do’s and Don’tsof interview skills and highlighted the importance of right gesture and body language. They advised the current batch to be clear about the vision of life and clarity on career goals. It was a completely informative and practical learning experience for current batch to be trained by their own seniors. The session successfully concluded with a dual benefit of getting reconnected with the alumni and training the tricks of the trade to the present students.
IMS PGDM Students Attended National Conference on ” Financial Fraud” by ASSHOCHAM on July 27th 2013
IMS PGDM Students attended a National Conference on “Financial Fraud” organized by ASSOCHAM on 27th July 2013 at Shangri-La’s hotel New Delhi with Prof Nandita Mishra. The Conference was all about the negative impact of big scam held due to frauds which made a deep dent in the corporate India’s reputation. Discussion was all about how the year was beleaguered with other more fraudulent incidents and controversies.
Our students got a chance to interact with Mr. Arpinder Singh (Partner and Leader, Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services, ERNST & YOUNG) who spoke about the financial disputes and fraud issues faced by the industry in today’s scenario. He also guided them in the way that they need to move on in life and showed them the path to achieve their goals in life.
There were many more reputed speakers who advised on various platforms of Industry related to Financial Fraud, Disputes and various other issues in financial sector.
Attending this conference was enlightening for our students and proved to be the best of learning experience.
CRC Members attended STC-India Regional Conference
STC-India Regional Conference (Delhi-NCR) was held at Chirag Residency, Nehru Place, New Delhi on June 29th, 2013. CRC Members-Ms. Charu Sharma and Ms. Nidhi Agrawal attended the conference and shared their views on ‘Introduction to Technical Writing’.
Many STC-India professionals were also present (from companies like Adobe, Comviva, Rightster, R Systems, ADP, Reliance, Cap Gemini, CDAC, Siemens, IBM, and Freescale.) All participants received trials version of latest version of Adobe Suite (sponsored by Adobe).
Mr. Rajeev Jain started the session with famous song of 3-Idoits “Confusion hee Confusion hai”. He started with example and need of communication in the corporate world. Mr. Jain gave a brief introduction of technical writing, tools, and job and career prospects in this field. He also touched upon demand-supply gap and need for Academia-Corporate tow work together for a win-win situation for all stakeholders.
It was an extremely interactive session by Mr. Rajeev Jain in which CRC Members of IMS Ghaziabad shared real life concerns and challenges faced by the educational institutes in bridging the gap between corporate and academia.
On behalf of IMS Ghaziabad we have invited Mr. Jain to come for an interactive session with the students in campus to share the scope of technical writing as a profession in the month of September.
