Stalwarts from industry and academia graced the conference with their esteemed presence and made it a huge success. The event started with an inaugural session. Prof Sachin Malhotra, Dean MCA and Conference Chair briefed everyone about the conference; which was followed by a welcome address by Prof Alok Pandey, Director, IMS Ghaziabad. Sir emphasized on the usage of technology, machine learning and big data and focused on the hybrid model. He stated that enormous online presence and India’s talent pool in Silicon Valley surely makes us “Aatmanirbhar” in the domain.

Mr K. K. Agarwal, Chairman, NBA was the chief Guest for the day and in his address he insisted on using technology as a tool and not a subject to make us acquainted to it. Mr Rahul Kumar Gupta, Senior Director, Technology, Publicis Sapient, spoke as the distinguished speaker for the day and briefed everyone on cloud computing and block chain technology. Mr Naveen Dachuri, Co Founder & CTO, Yulu focused on research and its importance in current scenario.

Expert & Session Moderator was Mr Rishikesh Patankar, Chief Operating Officer Education, Skill Development & CSC Academy; Expert Prof Sanjiva Shankar Dubey, Professor BIMTECH; Expert Deepak Sharma, Cofounder & COO, RecogX.AI and Adjunct Faculty, IIM Lucknow; Expert: Ashok Bhatt, Emulation R&D Director, Synopsys also shared their views on contemporary topics. Vote of Thanks was extended by Dr Tapan K Nayak, Dean Academics, IMS Ghaziabad.

The session continued post lunch with technical sessions by dexterous members of Industry and academia. The ceremony wrapped up with a valedictory session with Prof S G Deshmukh, Mechanical Department, IIT Delhi as Chief Guest; Prof. S L Kapoor, Elected Member of the Governing Council of IETE, Delhi and Dr Sujeet Sharma, Associate Professor, IIM Trichy as Guest of Honor.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Alok Pandey, Conference Patron and Director, IMS Ghaziabad and best paper award were announced. Vote of thanks extended by Dr Nripendra Dwivedi, Conference Convener and Professor-IT, IMS Ghaziabad.

The experts discussed the issues pertaining to the current economic situation and evolving policy mechanisms for implementing cyber physical systems. Aftermaths of Corona Virus and its impact on disruption of supply chain was also discussed. Media personnels from reputed Media Houses joined the discussion.

Third track of International Conference on “Transforming HR in the Digital Era: Prospects & Implicit Issues.” on the theme “Role of Communication in HR” was held on January 11th , 2020.

Researchers from different colleges came to present their ideas . There were papers discussing various dimensions of communication, impacting HR directly or indirectly. One paper discussed how communication can bring stability in the organisations. Another paper talked about how personalities can be detected through body language. Another paper discussed how managers should be managed through Agency theory.

The “best paper award” was bagged by Dr. Venugopalan T. from SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi. The topic of the paper was “Corporate Governance And Agency Problems In Post-Indian Companies Act 2013”

Session was chaired by Dr. Shikha Gera from Jamia Hamdard (School of Business Studies) and Dr. Richa N.Agarwal from Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad.

Rescheduling of Dates – “International Conference on Corporate Governance: Retrospect and Prospects” (ICCG IMSGZB 2017) from February 11-12, 2017 to February 12-13, 2017

We would like to share that today the Government of India has announced general elections in Ghaziabad (the city of the conference) to be held on February 11, 2017, which happens to be the Day-1 of our two-day conference. Due to elections, vehicular movement will be restricted on this day.

Owing to this unavoidable development, the conference has been rescheduled by a day. Now, in place of February 11-12, 2017 (Saturday and Sunday), the new dates will be February 12-13, 2017 (Sunday and Monday). All other details like venue etc. remain the same.

We regret the inconvenience caused. It might be appreciated that this rescheduling has been done due to circumstances beyond our control.

We look forward to having you in our midst in the conference.

Guest Lecture on “Branding and Promotion” at IMS Ghaziabad

IMS Ghaziabad is putting constant efforts in enriching its students with knowledge and global experience. Taking the legacy forward, IMS Ghaziabad presented a unique opportunity to its PGDM students by arranging a special guest lecture on “Branding and Promotion” by Mr. Hashan Haputhanthri, Head-TVS Motors, Srilanka on April 25, 2015.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director IMS Ghaziabad welcomed Mr. Hashan Haputhanthri and encouraged PGDM Students to learn from the rich experience of such international delegate. The Guest Lecture begun with the launch of a book titled “Bransology” authored by Mr Hashan Haputhanthri and inaugurated by Dr. Urvashi Makkar-Director, IMS Ghaziabad.

Mr. Hashan explained the role of Branding and Promotion in business decision making process in a very innovative manner. He emphasized on the practical application of the concepts studied in class by giving relevant examples from his own experiences. He further emphasized that how the dedication and commitment towards work can drive the student from no-where to somewhere in the business life. The students were really overwhelmed by the inputs given by Mr. Hashan on such a significant topic. The session proved to be a real knowledge enhancing session for the students as well as for the faculty members. At the end, Dr. Tapan K Nayak, PGDM Chairperson summarized the session to the students and proposed the Vote of thanks to the guest.
