IMS Ghaziabad organized its first ever Hyderabad Chapter Alumni Meet on December 16, 2016 at Aditya Park – A Sarovar Portico Hotel, Ameerpet, Hyderabad Following the vision laid by our Director, Prof. J.P Sharma, IMS Ghaziabad Alumni Committee plans to engage alumni in several activities throughout the year & connect with the growing alumni base. The chapter body plans to have numerous meets in various cities which would include batch meets, informal interactions etc. to foster the alumni connect. Hyderabad Chapter Meet was our small step to connect the Alumnus working there. With your support, we plan to conduct many more such successful events in the near future.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON “TRENDS & FUTURE PROSPECTS OF HR” SATURDAY, DECEMBER 03, 2016 In our constant endeavor to achieve Academic Excellence, HR Department of IMSGhaziabad under the stewardship of Prof. J.P. Sharma Director IMS Ghaziabad, organized “Panel Discussion on TRENDS & FUTURE PROSPECTS OF HR” for PGDM Students on Saturday, December 03, 2016. The mega event witnessed the presence of HR Stalwarts – Dr. Debi Singh Saini, Ex Professor, MDI, Gurgaon, Mr. Anupam Malik, Additional Labour Commissioner, Chandigarh Haryana, Mr. Avinash Chandra Joshi, Director (HR) UJVN Ltd. and Dr. Nanditesh Nilay, Chairman, ISTD Delhi Chapter. Prof. J. P. Sharma welcomed Guest for the day. Dr. Saini shared his thoughts about changing dynamics of HR, emerging debate on abolishing HR department and requirement of HR Skills among all other functional domains. The audience felt enriched with the deliberation by Mr. Anupam Malik on the theme of Social Dialogue: The ultimate HR Technology. He also discussed his experiments on social dialogue in different companies. Mr. Avinash Chandra Joshi and Dr. Nanditesh Nilay shared the current HR practices in government and private organizations. The expert speakers, post the presentation session, answered the questions raised by the students. The session was moderated by Dr. Saini. The students were quite involved and enthusiastic while asking questions from the experts. It was an enriching experience for the audience and the session concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak Program Chairperson (PGDM). The conveners of the event Dr. Lata Bajpai Singh, Area Chairperson HR & Dr. Anjali Rai vowed to organize such events in future, after witnessing the overwhelming response of the students.
MOS International Certification Training for PGDM Students
IMSGhaziabad, under the dynamic leadership of Prof. J.P. Sharma, Director, IMS Ghaziabad, in its constant endeavor to groom its students for Industry, organized a 24 Hours MOS International Certification Training for PGDM Batch 2016-18 from November 22-25, 2016. The Training was conducted by ATS Infotech (Microsoft IT Academy Partners). Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Programme chairperson, PGDM encouraged students to take full advantage of this excellent opportunity and learn this powerful tool as it helps the Managers in meeting day to day requirements.
The training took place section wise where separate trainers were provided to each section. The trainers were Mr. Nishant Kumar Sharma, Mr. Parth Shukla , Mr. Lokesh Lalwani, Mr. Suresh Pal and Ms. Huma Kauser. Individual attention was paid to the students and emphasis was on making them well conversant with the practical nuances of how to collate & analyze the information quickly and effectively use it in different business situations. Dr. Sunayana Jain and Dr. Tusshar Mahajan extended heartiest thanks to Prof. J.P Sharma and trainers for their overall support and guidance.

Celebration of Constitution Day 2016 at IMS Ghaziabad
126th Birth Day Celebration of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar at IMS Ghaziabad “Celebration of Constitution Day 2016” To commemorate of 126th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Rao Ambedkar, founder of Indian Constitution, IMS Ghaziabad organized Constitution Day, under the kind patronage of Prof. J.P Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad, on November 26, 2016. Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi has taken this initiative to celebrate the Constitution Day every year in order to reiterate the contributions of Dr. B R Ambedkar in nation building as a whole and development & creation of our constitution. Prof. J.P Sharma, Director, IMS Ghaziabad in his inaugural address eulogized the contribution of Babasaheb in Indian democracy. He further highlighted the essence of the Preamble of our Constitution. PGDM Ist Year students too deliberated on the topics, sections and articles of our constitution. IMS Ghaziabad showed solidarity to our Constitution, by conducting “Oath Ceremony” for all its faculty & staff along with PGDM Students. Dr. Anchal Mishra, Area Chairperson, PPSP, offered “Oath” to all. Mr. Karan Sabharwal, Assistant Professor, expressed “Vote of Thanks”, to all the dignitaries, faculty & staff members of the Institute. All Faculty, Staff members & Students enthusiastically participated in the event.

FDP on “Successful Case Teaching: Bringing Field to Class”

Under the stewardship of Director IMS Ghaziabad, Prof. J.P. Sharma, a one day FDP on “Successful Case Teaching: Bringing Field to Class” was organized on November 19, 2016 at MDP Room of IMS Ghaziabad. In his inaugural address, Prof. J.P.Sharma, stressed on the need for quality “Case Studies” in B-Schools. It helps in simulating a situation and drawing best-fit solutions by the budding managers.
Dr. Dwarika Prasad Uniyal, Assistant Dean,IIM-Kashipur( Dehradun campus), with its enriched experience of over 17 years in premier B-Schools, underlined the need for communicating properly with the learners. He initiated a discussion with the participants on video clip- “Cargo Cult”. Dr. Uniyal also took up a case on “Parable of a Sadhu”. During his discussion, he also stressed on the need for strong communications skills and theatrics in order to leave impact on the audience.
In the second session, Dr. Deepak Tandon, Professor (Finance & Accounting), & Programme Chairperson-PGDMBFS, of IMI, New Delhi, took up “Case Writing & Publishing” aspects. In his view, Case Writing requires updated information and data related to a company besides declaration from the CEO of the company. He also encouraged participants towards case writing.
The program was anchored by FDP Co-convner Ms Servjaeta Verma. It concluded with a “Valedictory Session”, where all participants were given “Certificate of Participation”, in the presence of Director, Prof. J.P.Sharma and Chairperson-FDP/MDP Dr. S K Dube. The Program Chair-PGDM DR. Tapan Kumar Nayak and HOD MCA Dr. Awadhesh Gupta were also present. FDP Convener Dr. Pankaj K. Agarwal, proposed a “Vote of Thanks”.

The Alumni were mesmerized to know about the latest developments at IMS Ghaziabad. The Alumni Committee plans to foster alumni connect under the stewardship of Prof J.P Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad. It plans to engage alumni in several activities throughout the year which would include batch meets, informal interactions etc.
Lucknow Chapter Meet was a small step to connect with the Alumnus working there. IMS Ghaziabad plans to conduct many more such successful events in the near future.
