Press Release of “HR Panel Discussion” organized by IMS Ghaziabad.
Under the stewardship of Prof. J.P. Sharma Director IMS Ghaziabad, keeping the motto of excellence mantra, the HR department of IMS Ghaziabad organized “HR Panel Discussion” for PGDM 1st year and 2nd year students on Saturday, September 16, 2017.
The presence of HR Stalwarts from academia and corporate- like globally renowned Dr. Debi Singh Saini , Ex Professor, MDI Gurgaon, Ms. Arpita Kuila, Head HR, NEC India, Mr. Bharat Singh, Director – Global Services, Tata Consultancy Services Limited, and Ms. Niharika Misra, AGM- HR, Orchid Corporate Services (I) Pvt. Ltd., made a strong panel for discussion.
The session began with the inaugural remark by the transformational leader, Prof. J.P. Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad, where he underlined the importance of HR functions which acted like a lubricant in any organization for keeping its employees moving. During the Session Dr. Saini shared his thoughts about strategic importance of HR, employee engagement and producing intangible results as role of HR. Ms. Arpita drew attention on the digitalization and changing role of HR professionals in an organization. She also put emphasis on understanding business before entering into HR profile. In his presentation, Mr. Bharat Singh from TCS, exhorted a successful HR professional of next generation must have 3M’s, such as Multifunctional, multilevel of handling people and multi geographical work experience. The AGM-HR of Orchid Corporate Services, Ms. Niharika highlighted the need of serious efforts by students during their summer internship projects. She made a fervent appeal to students to take decisions in haste which can mar their career.
The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Saini and other panel members including Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, PGDM Programme Chairperson, answered the questions raised by the students. The students were quite enthusiastic. It was an enriching experience for the audience and the session was concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Lata Bajpai Singh, Area Chairperson – HR.

Youthful and Vibrant Intercollegiate Annual Cultural festival at IMS Ghaziabad, “Melange -2017” will be held on March 24-25, 2017.
Ms. Nidhi Kesharwani, IAS, Honorable District Magistrate, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh has given her kind consent to be the Chief Guest and Inaugurate the Mega Cultural Festival Melange – 17 in the august presence of Sh. Pramod Agarwal, Managing Trustee, IMS Ghaziabad on March 24, 2017. The annual fest has been providing a common Platform to the students all over the country to display their creativity, talent, enthusiasm and showcase their talent and enthusiasm since last 27 years. The festival includes activities and events in the categories of Music, Arts, Dance, Skit, Photography, Fashion, Quiz and many more. Around 70 renowned Colleges / Universities have already registered for the participation. The events will be highly interactive and rejuvenating with fun and excitement.
HR Panel Discussion at IMS Ghaziabad
In the series of offering corporate exposure to its students IMS Ghaziabad organized Workshop on “HR Panel Discussion” for PGDM final year HR specialization students on August 21, 2015.The Theme of the discussion was “Issues, Scope & Challenges of HR Profile In Corporate”. The audience of the event witnessed the presence of corporate speakers Ms. Shahla Sultana, Manager HR, Synopsys; Ms. Pooja Agarwal, HR Generalist, Xerox Business India Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Rajeev Pandey, Sr. Executive HR, India TV Interactive Media Pvt. Ltd.
During the welcome address, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director IMS Ghaziabad emphasized on grasping real life exposure through the presence of corporate experts in HR functional Domain. It was followed by Keynote address by Ms. Sultana in which she discussed about the trends of HR profile in current business environment. Thereafter Ms. Agarwal shared the strategic role of HR as business partner. Mr. Pandey highlighted the diversification of roles and responsibilities in HR Domain. Immediately after it the Panel discussion was started by the moderator Dr. Lata Bajpai Singh and the students wholeheartedly participated in the discussion. The students were actively involved and enthusiastic while asking questions from the experts. All the students were enriched by the intellectual advancement and awarded by certificates of participation. The session was concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Rajbeer Kour.

Under the stewardship of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director IMS Ghaziabad, the 2- Days Behavioral Development Program for the Fore Court Salesmen of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited has been conducted at the Training & Experiential Learning Centre, Delhi on July 27th & 28th, 2015.
This development program is specially and specifically designed for the FSMs devising a 3 pronged approach of Connect——> Nurture———–>Grow. The program is designed with due diligence & relevant training need analysis of the FSMs at each located stationed petrol-pumps.
The program envisages the tools & techniques to deal & handle with care & assertiveness the irate customers. Secondly, it ensures the spark of belongingness to HPCL ignites in all the FSMs through outbound activities co-relating their experience and time span with HPCL in comparison to hopping to any new employer thereby creating brand loyalty. It ensures their sense of belonging to HPCL family. Besides, the audio videos displays & the simulations of the program ensures the FSMs to question the importance of personality quotient and their present ability as brand ambassadors of the company to the external customers.
The FSMs were fully engaged in the program & their vim & vigor during the entire session was ensured by rewarding them with various participatory gifts, along with “Star Performer Award” to the best performance of the day along with the Certificate of Participation to each and every participant. The Rewards and Recognition ceremony took place in benign presence of Mr. Kapil Dhruv, Chief Regional Manager – Delhi Region from HPCL, Ms. Guneet Oberoi, Sr.Manager – CCDR, IMS Ghaziabad & the trainer Mr. Anurag Urmaliya.

We are pleased to share that , Book authored by Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad has been published in Chinese Language. Publishing House of China’s People University along with Tata McGraw Hill has published Book “Customer Relationship Management” in Chinese language.
IMS Ghaziabad – Placement Report 2011
IMS Ghaziabad had a remarkable placement year 2010-11 with 450 plus offers from 178 companies. Banking & Financing Services in India (BFSI) were the leading recruiter in terms of number of students placed, followed by PSUs.
Many students got offers for consulting profiles from various companies including names like Deloitte, Laurent and Benon, Capital IQ, etc. Students also got international offers for Middle East and South African countries.
Key Pointers
- 150 Pre Placement Talks were received, out of which 120 companies conducted the process.
- Few students have been offered International Placements in the Middle East and the South African region.
- The highest international CTC offered has been Rs. 18 lacs PA. and the highest domestic was Rs. 8.5 lacs PA.
- The average CTC on campus is Rs. 5.07 Lacs PA.
- Average of 1.8 offers per students.
- 8 PSU’s for placement, such as Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank, South Indian Bank, Corporation Bank, Union Bank of India, SBI Life, Power Trading Corporation.
- AXIS Bank, Corporation Bank and ICICI Bank have been the major recruiters with the total of 130 accepted offers.
