MDP on “Finance for Non Finance Managers” @ IMS Ghaziabad, September 8, 2018
Under the patronage of Dr. Ajay K Jain, Director and Mr. Mahesh Munjal, CMD, Majestic Auto Limited, IMS Ghaziabad successfully organized a Management Development Program (MDP) on “Finance for Non Finance Managers” in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA). A string of reputed companies nominated about 30 executives for training, namely, Shriram Pistons Limited, International Tobacco Company, Avon Moldplast Limited, Unichem Laboratories, Uflex Limited, North Street Cooling Towers Limited, Bhagawati Steel, Delhi University and Amity University etc.
The Chief Guests of inaugural and valedictory functions included Mr. Dinesh Jain, President-Legal and Corporate Affairs, Uflex Limited and Mr. Sushil Kumar Agarwal, CMD, Avon Moldplast Limited respectively. Mr. Mahesh Munjal and Sri Vinay Gupta, Executive Director, GMA also graced the program.
In addition to Dr. Anurag Pahuja and Dr. Pankaj K Agarwal, the resource persons comprised Mr. N K Jalan and Mr. Romesh Sharma, both renowned management consultants.
Dr. Ajay K Jain welcomed delegates by highlighting with a Sanskrit verse that there is nothing in this world that cannot be made useful by a savvy person. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the conveners of the MDP, Dr. Pankaj K Agarwal, Professor and Dr. Anurag Pahuja, Associate Professor.

“First Steps” – Two Days Certification Programme by GHRDC
IMS Ghaziabad organized “Two Days Certification Programme: First Steps” by GHRDC on August 23 & 24, 2018, for its PGDM I Year students. During the inaugural address, Prof. Ajay K. Jain, Director IMS Ghaziabad, Ms. Mekhla Sinha, Executive Director, GHRDC, Ms. Neha Kapodor, Manager GHRDC, Dean- Academics, Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, faculty and budding PGDM First Year students were present. In his address Prof. Jain highlighted the importance of “Goal Setting” in one’s life. He elaborated it by naming 3 Ms- Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Dasarath Manjhi. The common linkages among three was their determination to achieve “Invincible goals”. On both days, Ms. Mekhla Sinha and Ms. Neha had engaged budding IMSians by conducting several ‘Self- Enriching ‘ activities.
At the end of the two days programme , students were awarded certificate. It was a great learning delight for PGDM I year students. Dr. S.K.Dube & Ms. Khushboo Sherwani were the coordinators for the programme.

Special Session for MCA Students by Chetu –A US Based Software Development Company, August 16, 2018
IMS Ghaziabad, under the kind patronage of Prof. Ajay K Jain, Director IMS Ghaziabad, organized a Special session for MCA Students on “Current Scenario in Java & Python – Careers in I.T” delivered by Expert Team from Chetu – A US Based Software Development Company. The Esteemed Guests – Mr. Supriya Deepti – HR, Mr Rinku Thapliyal and Mr. Aksheer Mittal – Technical Team Lead were welcomed by Dr Tapan k Nayak, Dean Academics and Dr. Avadhesh Kumar Gupta, Head MCA, Mr Tushar Sharma, Manager Placements – MCA along with Faculty & Students. During the Special session students were apprised about the latest technological trends in I.T Industry, its various vertical and the bright future prospects for MCA Students. Ms. Supriya Deepti – HR at Chetu urged the students to be passionate about technology and apprised the students about the personality traits that Corporate expects from Budding Technocrats. Mr Rinku Thapliyal – Team Lead @ Chetu spoke at large about latest Java Trends and its future and Mr. Aksheer Mittal, Team Lead @ Chetu talked about Python and its emerging Scope. AD MAD Show, August 4, 2018
IMS Ghaziabad organized AD MAD show on August 4, 2018, where PGDM Students showcased Creativity & Innovation combined with Advertising skills to became “ADMANIACS”. The event was graced by Guest of Honor – Shri Kishore Chacraborti (Independent Brand consultants and Ex. Vice President of McCann Erickson India), who was also the Judge for the day, along with Director IMS, Prof. Ajay Kumar Jain and Dean –Academics, Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak,Faculty, staff and Students.
“Markwizz” – The Marketing club of IMS Ghaziabad, organized it’s very first students centric activity where more than 40 teams had participated. 16 Teams were selected for the final round of presentation.
The event was more special to all the volunteers of “Markwizz club” as they got recognized with emblem of “Markwizz club” during the “Investiture ceremony” of the club. On the behalf of creative ideas, customer appeal, team coordination and clarity of thoughts, the “Gully Gang” teams of participants were declared as first, while “Revolutionist” were second and “Gladiator” were third. Consolation prices were given to team “Maveris” and team “Bhaiya je smile” for their ad presentation. The event was facilitated by team marketing along with their Area Chair, Dr. Abhinav P. Tripathi.

Under the stewardship of Director IMS, Prof. Ajay K. Jain , the “Special seminar Series” was organized . The theme of the current “Special Seminar”, was “Emerging Markets: Are We”. The Special seminar was first for the current session and 25th in a row. The Managing Director of IIFCI Infrastructure Development Ltd. Mr. Shivendra Tomar was the “Guest of Honour”.
In his inaugural lecture, Prof. Ajay K.Jain, Director IMS Ghaziabad, described Mr. Tomar as great “Entrepreneur and Transformational Leader”. In his view, Mr. Tomar, being CEOs of many companies, will be an ideal role model for young managers. For being a successful transformation leader, he emphasized on three aspects- Motivation, Transformation & Change Management.
The Guest of Honour, Mr. Shivendra Tomar, highlighted the existing vast rural population in the country, which amounts to over 90 crores, and has the ‘huge market potential untapped’ so far. He quoted Noble Laureate Prof. Amartya Sen, who talked about ‘social welfare economy’. In India , state like Gujarat has shown tremendous entrepreneurial abilities because of which people in rural India are flourishing. AMUL is a classic success story in this regard. Mr. Tomar exhorted young managers to look for entrepreneurial opportunities in procurement, storage and transportation related infrastructures ie supply chain and cold supply chain management. He was of the firm opinion that if post-harvest losses could be controlled, which are presently to the tune of 40 percent, India can emerge as net exporter in agri-product business. The session was followed by ‘Question & Answer Session’.

Pre-Orientation Programme for MCA Lateral Entry 2018-20 Batch, August 1. 2018
IMS Ghaziabad organized a Pre-Orientation Programme for MCA Lateral Entry 2018-20 Batch. The Programme was inaugurated by Prof Ajay K Jain, Director IMS Ghaziabad, Dr Tapan K Nayak, Dean-Academics, and Dr Avadhesh k Gupta, Head MCA in the presence of Faculty, Staff, Students and their Proud Parents.
The aim of this Orientation Programme was to acquaint the budding Technocrats with the academic environment of the institute. Dr. Jain urged the students to be hardworking, patient and explore thyself in his own unique style by telling stories of Socrates, Raja Janak and Mahatma Buddha. Dr Nayak apprised the students about the importance of being regular and focused. Dr. Gupta, motivated the students to remain positive, humble, energetic and continuous. All the new entrants were introduced to the faculty & staff members. It was followed by an experience sharing session where students of Second and Third Year shared their experiences with the gathering. During the post lunch sessions, all the students underwent an outbound activity, where they had a lot of learning with fun
MCA Students STARTUP won 2nd Prize in STARTUP PARIKRAMA organized by Dr. A.P.J.A.K.T.U, Lucknow, July 24-27, 2018
MCA Final Year Students of IMS Ghaziabad – Priyanshu Shukla, Himanshu Tiwari, Shubham Kaliyar, Bharti, Pawan Kumar won 2nd Prize in the STARTUP PARIKRAMA which was organized by Dr. A.P.J.A.K.T.U, Lucknow. The Students were felicitated in a glittering ceremony by Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog in the august presence of Shri Desh Deepak Verma, Secretary-General, Rajya Sabha, Honorable Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha along with Prof. Vineet Kansal, Dean UGSE, AKTU, Mr. Srijan Pal Singh, Advisor AKTU, Lucknow among other dignitaries during Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial, 3rd International Youth Conclave, Creating Livable Planet Earth at Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra, New Delhi, on July 27, 2018.
During the first two days of the summit, students were provided training how to pitch for the Startup Summit in front of Investors and what to cover in presentation, finance related terms like value of start-up, equity share, liquidity of business etc, how to plan for start-up, how to prepare a business plan, etc. Later on third day, MCA Students showcased live demonstrations of their projects to the panelist & investors. Prof Ajay k Jain, Director IMS Ghaziabad congratulated the students and urged them to pursue their dreams, innovate new ideas, and work towards setting up an entrepreneurial venture.
